Choosing laptop a challenge

DAYTONA BEACH -- When classes start at Daytona Beach Community College in a couple of weeks, Sarah Jasim will be ready for her second year.

So will the laptop computer she received as a high school graduation gift last year.

"I just wanted to get it ready for school. That way, I don't have problems during the school year," Jasim, of Ormond Beach, said this week while waiting for her laptop to be tuned up by technicians at the Best Buy store on West International Speedway Boulevard.

In recent years, laptops computers have become the gift of choice for many students heading off to college. In some instances, colleges require students to bring their own computer or the institution provides loaner units for students.

Glyn Johnston, DBCC spokesman, said the college does not require students to have laptop computers.

Nokia hit by battery fears

Over half a billion pounds was wiped off Nokia's stock market value this morning after it admitted that 46m of its mobile phones are at risk of overheating.

The Finnish phone maker has received around 100 reports of its phones short-circuiting while being charged. They all used a particular battery, the BL-5C, which is used in many Nokia phones sold in the UK.

More than 300m BL-5C batteries, which are also sold separately, have been distributed worldwide. The problems all involve units made by Japan's Matsushita between December 2005 and November 2006, when it shipped a total of 46m BL-5C batteries to Nokia.

Subject: Moultrie DGW-100 1.3 Mega Pixel Review

This is a review that I did about the Moultrie camera that I purchased back in 2006. I had this posted on another site and thought I would bring it over here and share with those considering the Moultrie brand cameras. Of course now they have upgraded to a 4.0 mega pixel, but there are still some 2.1 and 3.1 mega pixels out there being sold. The 1.3 mega pixel was replaced the later half of 2006 with the 2.1. This posting also shows a box that a friend made for me for security purposes, not just from a thief but also from MR. BLACK BEAR!! As most of you know I give a thumbs up to the Moultrie digital camera that Wal-Mart sells for $98. I purchased one back in the spring and have been wanting to get it out for some time now. I ran it through a test in the back yard aimed at the dogs. Got several pictures from it and was pretty satisfied. Yea I know, it isn't a Cuddeback or Wildeye (not sure of the brand), but for a man on a budget the Moultrie will do the job for me. I fell in love with the Moultrie last year after seeing the one my brother in law bought.
